I’ve finished 34 books half way through the year. Not a sprinter’s pace, but it is more titles than I finished in all of 2022. The list is below. There are some highlights. There are always highlights. I finished two books by the late Mark Fisher and also read probably 70% of his k-punk blog. On a whim of the calendar, I gave myself a new reading project, and I’ve read a number of books published in 1923 (100 years ago). Three massively important books of poetry came out that year. Harmonium by Stevens. New Hampshire by Frost and Duino Elegies by Rilke.

My two favorite reviews I wrote this year are probably:
My review of Wall by Jen Craig here.
My review of The Shards by Bret Easton Ellis here.
-
Best book so far is The Portrait of A Lady.
-
My favorite is probably Peer Gynt.
